I have had so much fun celebrating my birthday week with family and friends! This year, I decided to celebrate all week by visiting some of my local favorites!!

Here are some of the highlights:

West Michigan Wednesday: Electric Cadillac Deli

One of the things I love most about my home is the location! I love living in West Michigan and enjoy many activities around town. I wanted to create a series that explores some of the great things that this area has to offer.

West Michigan Wednesday

This week I wanted to share my favorite deli in West Michigan. The Electric Cadillac Deli is a locally owned and operated sandwich shop in Grand Haven. Last year, I visited this deli on a weekly basis. I’m not even kidding you. If we are friends and you live in the area, chances are I’ve probably made you go there with me. It is so good.

The menu is amazing and most of the items are made from scratch right in house. They use quality cuts of meat and tasty fresh bread. My favorites are The KJB (turkey, bacon, ranch, and guacamole… Yes please!) and The Spring Chicken Salad sandwiches. Also, Electric Cadillac just opened up a second location last spring in Holland. If you’re in the area, stop by and pick up a sandwich. You won’t regret it. In fact, maybe you should take me with you. Just saying.

West Michigan Wednesday: The Pump House

One of the things I love most about my home is the location! I love living in West Michigan and enjoy many activities around town. I wanted to create a series that explores some of the great things that this area has to offer.

This week I cannot get enough of The Pump House. It is a super cute frozen yogurt bar nestled in downtown Grand Haven right across the street from Chinook Pier.  This is a locally owned business which originally opened in Grand Rapids and they expanded with this second location in June.

I am a big fan of frozen yogurt bars and there have been several opening up around West Michigan. I honestly love them all. Like every fro-yo bar I have been to, there is a wide variety of yogurt flavors to choose from and even more toppings to make each visit unique and fun!

I love playing with the toppings and trying different varieties! They also have locally made fudge available on the toppings bar and for sale in the shop.

However, what makes The Pump House stand out for me is the decor. It is just so stinking cute and functional!  There is even a photo booth! So adorable, I can’t even stand it! I really enjoy the overall layout and design. The set up encourages you to walk around the entire space and it feels a lot less like an assembly line at a typical fro-yo bar.  The checkout and toppings island floats in the middle of the space and there are several seating zones around to enjoy your frozen yogurt creation and chat with friends. I love the colorful stool/table combos and the painted adirondack swings with window views.

I really enjoyed my visit this week. I love mixing fruits, nuts, and chocolate for the perfect mix! So Yummy!

West Michigan Wednesday: Green Acres Market

One of the things we love most about our home is the location! I wanted to create a series that explores some of the great things that West Michigan has to offer.

We were working on some things in the yard this weekend (more on that later) and stopped by a local flower market to see what they had in stock. We didn’t find what we were looking for but we were greeted by a ton of fresh produce and cut/potted flowers.

Green Acres Market is my favorite place to pick up potted plants in the spring and we have been going there with my parents for a birthday tradition the past two years. Yet, I have never visited in the fall! There was a ton of produce to choose from!

We picked up some locally made fudge, nectarines, peaches and fresh green beans which we used for dinner that evening.

One of my favorite places to grab dinner in downtown Grand Haven is The Pavilion Wharf Bar & Grill . The storefront is super cute and really unique.

They have a ton of stuff to choose from and the prices are really reasonable.  I absolutely love their Mushroom and Swiss burgers! There is indoor and outdoor seating available and a full bar inside. They also feature live bands and Kurt will actually be playing a show there later this month!
