West Michigan Wednesday: “Harvey” at The Howmet Playhouse

One of the things we love most about our home is the location! We love living in Grand Haven and enjoy many activities in and around our town. I wanted to create a series that explores some of the great things that West Michigan has to offer.

Last weekend we had the opportunity to see a production of “Harvey” at the Historic Howmet Playhouse in Whitehall.

Summer Season at The Howmet Playhouse

I didn’t know anything about the play, other than it was a movie starring Jimmy Stuart. So I had high hopes. And oh my gosh, what a fun show! We had a BLAST!  “Harvey” was a part of the summer season at the playhouse so unfortunately, it only ran one weekend. But before you get too discouraged, each weekend throughout the summer there will be events and productions to check out at Howmet. This weekend will feature actors from CMU performing a different play each night! What a great weekend of theatre!

As always, we had a great time at the playhouse! We were able to catch up with a few friends during intermission and after the show. On our way out to Whitehall we stopped at our favorite pizza place in Muskegon, Bernie’Os. We are so excited that our friends Derek and Claire introduced us to this place! It is fantastic!

Bernie O’s Pizza Home of The Twist

We grabbed our favorite, their nationally ranked “The Twist.”  I don’t know why we think it’s a good idea to eat a Twist in the car! We make a huge mess every time but is SO good! And so continues our tradition of sneaking out to the car to eat more pizza during an intermission. at The Howmet.

What is your favorite thing to do in West Michigan?
